Born in Dublin to Irish and Nigerian parents, Leann grew up in the East End of London from the age of 5. She is a graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Past projects have included work with BBC Television, Comedy Unit, UK Film Council, Oldham Coliseum, Citizens Theatre, Theatre503, National Theatre of Scotland and the new Crosspath Theatre Company with award winning poet John Agard.

The Parade with BBC Writersroom and Live Theatre

In March 2012 Leann performed in 'The Parade', an exciting evening of 10 short dramas by the BBC Writersroom 10 in a co-production with the Live Theatre Newcastle. Roles included Naomi in 'The Parade' by Becky Prestwich, Alice in 'Gifts and Cards' by Dawn King, Dissenter in 'No More Poundshop Wars' by Amman Brar and Safia in 'Locksmiths' by Rachel De-Lahay (The Westbridge, Royal Court Theatre/Alfred Fagon Award Joint Winner).
Calibania at Tristan Bates Theatre

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's The Tempest, Leann recently appeared in this public reading of Calibania, a new verse satire by John Agard, produced by Crosspath Theatre Company at Tristan Bates Theatre in London. The eclectic cast also included Roger Lloyd Pack (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy/Only Fools and Horses), Crispin Bonham-Carter (BBC's Pride and Prejudice/Casino Royale) as well as the fantastic Roddy Maude-Roxby, Ayesha Dharker and Peter Faulkner.

Leann appeared in episode 2 of the tenth series of popular BAFTA winning TV sitcom Rab C Nesbitt in October. She played the role of Ms Martens alongside actors' Gregor Fisher and Tony Roper with a sneaky cameo by singer Susan Boyle! Series 10 will be available on DVD from 12th December 2011.
Small Grants Award!
Leann was delighted to be awarded a Small Grants Award from the Tom McGrath Trust to conduct research into a new play she is developing as an actress and writer. Leann is very grateful for the support of the trust and looks forward to developing the piece in the New Year - so watch this space!
